LAS VEGAS — Sands China Ltd., a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp., has announced a licensing agreement with Playboy Enterprises Inc. to bring the Playboy Club to Macau.
The company said the Playboy Club Macao, a 12,000 square foot entertainment area complete with private entertainment, media rooms, gaming rooms and a lounge, will be opened at the top of the Sands Macao casino by the end of the year.
In addition, a 30,000 square foot complex modeled after Hugh Hefner’s legendary Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles will be built and include bars, lounges, nightclubs, gaming and retail stores.
The Playboy Mansion Macao will be built on undeveloped parcels owned by Sands on the Cotai Strip and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2012.
“Playboy’s entrance into Macau is a welcome addition to Sands China Ltd.’s offering for the region, further cementing our promise of providing Asia with unprecedented entertainment and integrated resort amenities for all ages and palates," said Steve Jacobs, president and chief executive officer of Sands China Ltd.
He added, "The location for Playboy Club Macao has seen the likes of Mariah Carey and Michael Wong perform and the presence of the Playboy brand ensures further success and varied entertainment for everyone visiting to Macau.”
