Held on Saturday, February 20, the event raised funds for the ASACP Foundation and the children's Haiti relief effort and featured one of Barcelona's most famous painters, David Machuca.
Machuca painted a large, impressionistic painting of the Barcelona Summit, with attendees watching the artist at work on the show floor and encouraged to add their own thumbprint to the painting, along with a contribution. Upon its completion, Master Adult Auctioneer Thommy Oliver led the painting's live auction — raising more than $10,500 between the auction and other contributions.
Sponsored by Epoch and RIVCash, with additional support from MojoHost, Euro Payment Group GmbH, and PlayaMedia.com, the organizers of the Barcelona Summit created the exciting fundraising event.
The Barcelona Summit is a major international conference for the adult online industry in Europe offering its participants an exciting learning experience, top-class facilities and a spectacular venue to achieve their business goals.
"The Barcelona Summit was more than happy to host such a great event for truly worthy causes," Andreas Bischoff of The Barcelona Summit offered. "With the more than generous outcome of the auction (and additional donations) we hope that the funds raised provide some necessary support for those that truly need it."
"ASACP is thrilled with the outpouring of support that occurred during this event," ASACP CEO Joan Irvine said. "The Barcelona Summit did an incredible job creating and organizing the fundraiser, Epoch and RIVCash generously stepped up to sponsor it, and the attendees embraced it with such enthusiasm. Of course, with Mr. Thommy Oliver as the persuasive and lively auctioneer everyone had a good time!"
"During this difficult economic time, we greatly appreciate everyone who helped us raise these much needed funds to continue our mission to protect children and the industry," she added.
"Epoch was proud to support this event and ASACP," stated Harmik Gharapetian of Epoch. "We have been a long time supporter and ask everyone else to participate by donating and helping their cause. They do a great job protecting our kids and their exposure to age-restricted content."
Mo, Director of Business Development of RIVCash, said that the company is a staunch supporter of ASACP.
"With sponsoring the speed painting auction we gladly endorse the goals and good work of this organization," Mo said. "We were truly thrilled with the fantastic outcome of the auction and hope that these types of fundraisers become regular items on more show agendas. It will surely have our support in the future."
