NEW YORK — A Florida woman has sued rapper 50 Cent, claiming he unlawfully distributed her homemade sex video over the Internet.
According to MTV and the Associated Press, Lastonia Leviston filed the suit Wednesday in Manhattan.
The suit alleges unauthorized use of her name or image and emotional distress caused by the public release of a video she made with her boyfriend who was supposed to destroy the tape, but instead either sold it or transferred it to the rapper.
In the lawsuit, Leviston claims that the rapper dressed up in a wig and edited himself into the video which he then posted on ThisIs50.com last year.
The suit claims the video made it on to YouTube and other video sharing sites and has been seen millions of times.
Leviston reportedly said in a radio interview that the rapper refers to her as a "call girl" causing her severe emotional distress.
