According to the association, its CEO Joan Irvine will participate on the panel "Fast Forward: The Future of the Porn Industry" at the conference. The panel takes place on Wednesday, Feb 10, from 2-3 p.m. During her presentation, Irvine will discuss ASACP's plans for international expansion as well as how the blurring line between adult and mainstream means that compliance is the price of admission to do premium business in today's world where everyone is online, and how child protection is on the top of many mainstream companies' priority list.
"The theme of the XBIZ LA 2010 conference is 'Seize The Future,' which is exactly what ASACP is striving for," Irvine said. "ASACP has many exciting plans for 2010 and I look forward to the opportunity to meet with industry leaders to discuss how we can all work together to best protect children online and how this benefits the industry."
Later that evening during the XBIZ Awards event at the Avalon in Hollywood, ASACP will present its annual Service Recognition Award. Past recipients of ASACP's Service Recognition Award include Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick, Evan Seinfeld, Fiona Patten and Robbie Swan of The Eros Association, attorneys Greg Piccionelli and Lawrence Walters, technical consultant Brandon Shalton of Cydata Services, and ASACP Technology and Forensic Research Director Tim Henning.
Founded in 1996, ASACP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to online child protection. ASACP battles child pornography through its CP Reporting Hotline and helps parents prevent children from viewing age-restricted material online with its Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label. ASACP is the only association that coordinates the adult entertainment industry's efforts to protect children online and has spent more than 13 years creating progressive programs to protect children.
XBIZ LA takes place Feb. 9–11 in Hollywood at the Sofitel Hotel, and will feature intensive workshops, seminars and networking opportunities. Attendees interested in scheduling a meeting with Irvine at XBIZ LA should email Joan@asacp.org.
