Brandon Shalton Receives Service Recognition Award

LOS ANGELES – The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced that Brandon Shalton, president of Cydata Services, was the recipient of the ASACP Service Recognition Award during a presentation at the XBiz Awards.

According to the ASACP, Shalton has provided his services, the use of his priority technology and acted as ASACP's CTO since 2003. His achievements included customizing technology tools like web spidering programs and image processing applications for ASACP.

Shalton’s spidering technology is currently being used by the group to verify that each “Approved Member” complies with the ASACP Code of Ethics. He also managed the implementation of the ASACP’s redesigned site earlier this year.

"I am honored to receive the ASACP Service Recognition Award," Shalton said. "I would like to thank the great members and sponsors who contribute their financial support to allow ASACP to the work of assisting law enforcement with documenting instances of found child pornography and being able to demonstrate that the online adult entertainment industry does not condone nor associated with the child pornography leads.”

Shalton said it is ironic that while the adult industry is being persecuted to be the purveyors of child pornography, the data that ASACP has collected “statistically proves” that the distribution and access to child pornography primarily occurs on non-adult web hosts, registrars and billing companies.

"ASACP as most other nonprofits are dependent upon the generosity of others," Joan Irvine, executive director of ASACP, said. "I wish to thank XBiz’s Alec Helmy for starting ASACP, the Advisory Council members for donating their time, the sponsors for their financial contributions and, of course, Brandon Shalton. His technology and dedication to the ASACP has allowed ASACP to be more effective in its mission."
