Bruno and Llewellyn collaborated on the basic story for "Laid" that centers on tough Los Angeles cop Jack Cannon; Llewellyn then wrote the novel, while Bruno directed the adult film.
Cannon is described by the publisher as "tough, smart and the kind of guy that relieves the pressure of his day by cruising the city's gay bars off-duty." In the book, Cannon discovers his new, hot-tempered love interest is also a mob boss wanted by the FBI.
The porn-film version of "Laid" is set to premiere as a series of webisodes on MassiveStudio.com in advance of a DVD release later this year.
"Laid" the novel will be made available as a digital release at the publisher's official website, ExtasyBooks.com on Sept. 15.
"I am ecstatic to be working with John Bruno," Llewellyn said. "He is, unlike my literary character, perfect in every way."
Bruno said "Laid" is the first in a proposed series of similar crossovers. "A.J. and I were introduced by a mutual friend and we hit it off immediately. We share a love of porn and that led to A.J. writing this book, which is based on a character that I have had in my head for a long time."
Newcomer Hunter Marx makes his erotic debut in the film as Jack Cannon, and posed in character for the cover of the novel. Starring opposite Marx is performer Matt Murdock (a/k/a Patrick Bateman).
The six-year-old Massive Studio was acquired and brought under the Falcon Studios umbrella in September 2008.
