Burning Angel Gets Inked With ‘LA Pink’

LOS ANGELES — Burning Angel returns to scripted comedy with the release of “LA Pink,” an adult spoof of popular TLC tattoo show “LA Ink,” releasing Oct. 6 from Vouyer Media.

“LA Pink” stars Angel as Joanna Von Angel and tells a “hilariously erotic tale of tattoos, pizza, insatiable sex drives, and the challenges of being a female entrepreneur in a male-dominated world,” — things Angel is intimately familiar with, which leaves her in a unique position to film this spoof.

“I certainly think we were better candidates to make this parody than um, Wicked Pictures or something,” Angel told XBIZ. “It was also a way for me to make a parody but still stay within my brand — and no one would really be ‘playing’ someone else totally different from themselves.”

The comedic plot centers around Von Angel, the owner of her own tattoo parlor, who’s hired some of the sexiest artists to be on her staff. While it’s immediately obvious Von Angel and her team give the best tattoos — and blowjobs — in Hollywood, things get a little crazy when the CEO of Pizza Party Incorporated offers Von Angel her own frozen pizza licensing deal.

“LA Pink” stars Andy San Dimas, Misti Dawn, Draven Star, CoCo Velvett, Brian Street Team, Erik Everhard, Sean Michaels and James Deen.

In an instance of art imitating life, the heavily tatted Angel herself got inked on the first season of “LA Ink” by renowned artist Corey Miller.

Miller tattooed a woman’s symbol on Angel’s right side that shows a woman’s face that’s cracking on the inside of the circle.

“[The tattoo] represented the strength and the struggle of being a woman and owning a company in this industry,” Angel said.

Known in the industry for her colorful tattoos, Angel started getting her own ink once she turned 18.

“I don't know how many I have now,” Angel said. “Once you get a lot of tattoos you count areas, you don't really count individual tattoos. So I have my right arm, my back, the back of my calves ... and I don't know. I have a bunch and I love them — I even love the crappy ones I have. They are just part of me.”

Burning Angel launched a microsite, LAPinkXXX.com, for promotional purposes that features hard and soft trailers, wallpapers, photos and more.
