Full On Video Introduces DRM-Enabled Leased Feeds

LOS ANGELES — Claiming a “revolutionary innovation” in leased online adult content, Full On Video has added Digital Rights Management to it full-length movies for both download and streaming.

Full On Video founder JMK said the content, part of its Full On Video Reloaded suite, is designed to help the company’s webmaster clients improve retention rates.

When a user downloads a DRM-protected movie, the DRM mechanism issues a license that expires after a specified time period, after which the user can no longer view the movie unless he returns to the site it was downloaded from and extends the license.

“This idea grew from a conversation I had with a large affiliate owner who felt that content would truly be ‘king’ if it was able to provide a forceful but unobtrusive way to encourage members to stay on for another month,” JMK said.

According to JMK, the scenario gives users an incentive to remain members of — or renew membership in — sites they have downloaded DRM-protected movies from.

“During our extensive client beta testing, our clients noticed as much as 20 percent increase in retention during the initial testing phase,” JMK said, adding that new features and functions will be added on future Full On Video Reloaded releases.

Webmasters who license content from Full On Video can offer access to more than 100 full-length DVDs, many from top-name studios like Digital Rain and CDI Entertainment, including roughly 50 high-definition titles. Titles can be downloaded or streamed in both Windows Media and Quicktime formats.

JMK said that as the company continues to release access to more DVDs, webmasters will be offered content to fit whatever niche they request.

“Certain webmasters don’t need all the categories we have to offer, so we’ll try to give them a feed specific for their needs,” he said.
