Forbes.com Looks at Adult Tube Sites

NEW YORK — Mainstream business website Forbes.com has turned its attention to adult tube sites.

In an article that addresses user-generated porn, writer Oliver J. Chiang points out that YouTube-like sites offering adult material — which may be unauthorized — can offer value as an advertisement for other paid sites and a carrier for advertising.

"I don't see where the money is in uploading pirated videos to a free site," Sarah LoPrinzi, market research director for XBIZ Research, was quoted as saying. "Are you going to brand it with a logo? It's not going to last. Chances are, someone is going to say 'cut it out' at some point."

Other adult industry personalities quoted in the article include Vivid Entertainment co-founder Steven Hirsch, Digital Playground co-founder Joone and Suzann Knudsen, marketing director for video-on-demand distributor AEBN, which owns PornoTube.
