While Platinum has been offering a wide-array of amateur couples content for six years, the company hopes to reach a new niche market through the deal, according to Mandi Michaels, Platinum’s production director and cover girl.
“We are very excited to add a mature line of titles to our catalog,” Michaels said. “We’ve actually had requests from some of our customers for these titles. It’s these smaller videographers [like XXX-tra] that produce the content people really enjoy.”
XXX-tra Productions entered the partnership citing Platinum’s ability to make porn not only erotic but also fun to watch, according to XXX-tra CEO John Myers.
“We’ve always known that we had something unique to offer,” Myers said. “Anyone can hire models, but try convincing your next-door neighbor and her husband to do a porn movie for international distribution. We just didn’t have the post-production talent at our disposal. Michaels’ production group has that magic.”
Platinum Media and XXX-tra Productions will be hosting a rollout party on Nov. 16 at the Washington Hilton in Washington D.C. to celebrate the partnership, which comes less than a month after Platinum’s amateur line found European distribution thanks to a deal with satellite porn provider Full-X TV.
The Amsterdam-based company, which offers four 24-hour international TV channels dedicated to adult content, signed a deal with Platinum in early October to broadcast Platinum’s amateur product line of adult videos throughout Europe, North Africa and much of the Middle East.
