The move comes more than two months after Arrow Productions’ Head of Production Paul Interlandi found the original negatives for the film in a forgotten film canister kept in storage for more than 35 years.
“It was a pretty great moment,” Interlandi told XBiz, considering that earlier this year, he and the crew at Arrow had spent more than $30,000 recreating a set of negatives for the film to be shown in theaters nationwide.
HDHE authored the film, along with its original theatrical trailer, to hi-def DVD format. The DVD also includes both the hi-def and standard versions of the film, meaning standard DVD players can still play it, and company representatives said the hi-def version also can be viewed on a PC running at least at 2.4GHz.
To celebrate, both companies are organizing a release party in Hollywood on Sunday, Nov. 13 in Hollywood.
Adult DVD Empire is co-sponsoring the party, and will soon be offering the new hi-def version of “Deep Throat” on its online retail site.
Coinciding with the HDHE release are several more high-def titles from HDHE, including “High Def XXX: Volume 1,” “High Def Lesbians,” “Dreamcummers,” “Girls Gone Skiing” and “High Def Erotica.”
