NationalNet Announces New Metro Atlanta Data Center

ATLANTA — Atlanta-based hosting and colocation provider NationalNet has announced the planned construction of a new data center in the Northwest Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Ga. The new facility will be home to the company’s main managed hosting and colocation divisions and will house the newly formed unmanaged dedicated hosting division.

“NationalNet is thrilled to announce this expansion despite the tough economic conditions facing our customers and our nation, “ NationalNet CEO Tony Morgan said. “This new data center has the space and configuration to meet the growth needs of our flagship brand of fully managed hosting as well as our rapidly growing colocation division. The new space also allows us to offer a new product: custom designed colocation cages and spaces for enterprise level customers, a category we’ve been eager to offer.” The five-year-old building, formerly a high-security processing and data center facility for a large regional bank bank, is now being rebuilt as a data center.

The design/build project, which is being completed by Total Site Solutions of Columbia, Md., began in January with the first phase of the facility slated to open in late July.

The initial 35,000-square-foot phase will include administrative offices, network operations, and the data center requirements necessary to support NationalNet’s growing customer base, with N+1 redundancy throughout all critical components and redundant loop-fed utility power.

"In addition to the critical features of the facility, NationalNet will offer customers the choice of network connectivity services on our own blended network, or customers may lease service from any of a number of connectivity providers already at or in the building," NationalNet President Bill VanVorst said. "Having already set the bar of customer support at its highest level, our new offerings will allow us to cover nearly any customer need.” NationalNet offers companies web hosting solutions, including fully managed hosting and custom configured colocation space, with 24/7 customer support.
