"When I received the notice I saw nominees from Rocketdyne and Walt Disney Co. and there was ToiBocks," Tulman said. "I was speechless."
A reporter for the Business Journal nominated Tulman for the award after meeting her at a trade show last year and seeing the "ToiBocks," a jewelry case box with a locked tray.
"I remember [reporter] Mark well," Tulman said. "He loved the ToiBocks and ended up making our company the focus of his coverage of the event. That show was our first introduction to buyers and we have been working very hard since then to get the word out to consumers that we have the only discreet storage that can sit out in the open without arousing curiosity. We are very proud of what we've been able to accomplish."
The awards will be presented tomorrow afternoon at a luncheon at the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys.
