Last May, Goodman became the first elected official to be a celebrity Playboy photographer. But the photo shoot got Hizzoner in some sort of trouble with a right-wing conservative group official who says he crossed a moral line. Outraged by the Playboy shoot, the Nevada Concerned Citizens asked the mayor to resign.
Goodman promptly shot back and said boohoo. Critics of the Playboy shoot are “haters and those who need to get a life,” said Goodman, who at the time added that he did the shoot because it was good publicity and fun, “and I would do it again.”
And that he did, but this time not as a photographer. Goodman joined Playboy’s sexiest “Playmates at Play” on Fremont Street for a shoot. He even gave the Playmates a key to the city.
The calendar also features the Playmates posing at the Palms Resort and Casino’s casino floor, as well as other hotel locations, including the Ghostbar, Rain Las Vegas, the Hugh Hefner Suite, the Skin Pool Lounge and Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co.
“We’re very excited about the 2006 swimsuit calendar,” said John Turner, president of John F. Turner and Co., Playboy calendar licensee. “We couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop for our Playmates than Las Vegas.”
Playboy recently announced a partnership with the Palms and the Nine Group to develop and operate an entertainment destination at the Palms, which is scheduled to open in early spring.
Featured Playmates will head back to Las Vegas on Nov. 5 to sign calendars and celebrate at the Palms’s Anniversary weekend event. The 15” x 15” wall calendar retails at $15.99. Also available are smaller wall calendars and box calendars.
