Paradise Visuals Takes Distribution In-House, Plans Website Upgrade

LAS VEGAS — Paradise Visuals has announced that it will self-distribute its DVD library "for the time being," according to company co-owner Jason Green. The adult production company also will upgrade its flagship website ParadiseVisuals.com by the end of the month.

"It's something we've been thinking about for a while," Green told XBIZ, pointing out that Paradise's former distributor, Anabolic, is a gonzo production company and Paradise's plot-driven '80s videos weren't a good fit.

"I don't think a company needs a distributor," Green said. "Every day I get emails from people who want our obscure titles, and I think this may not be the time to replicate thousands of movies. Maybe we should do them in the hundreds and sell them on our website."

The updated website should launch by the end of June.

"We're always been behind," Green said. "My partner said we waited until DVD was over before we jumped in. We'll be releasing HD discs and 8-tracks pretty soon."

The website will offer direct sales of DVDs and video-on-demand.

"I'll still be selling to a few choice distributors, but I want ParadiseVisuals.com to be the place to buy Paradise movies." Green said. "I'm going to keep the prices down, like $14.99, so people can afford these things, and add bonus features on every disc. I get people who love Tiffany Storm and Nina DePonca. A lot of these '80s video stars are being rediscovered. And the male stars were really funny."

The company's next DVD will be a re-release of the 1986 "Getting L.A.d," featuring Nina Hartley, Amber Lynn, Buck Adams and Ron Jeremy.
