Georgia Politics: Porn to Attract Voters?

ST. MARYS, Ga.— Camden County Commissioner Sanford Feller may have tapped into the latest way to reach voters, or he may simply be a poor web designer, but whatever the reason, Feller’s private web blog is allegedly loaded with porn links, and fellow Commissioner Stephen Berry wants to end Feller’s career because of it.

Although Feller’s blog appears to be merely a platform for the commissioner to discuss local issues, Berry said clicking on Feller’s profile in the blog takes visitors to a porn portal.

As of this writing, clicking on Feller’s profile brings up a page that reads, “The Blogger Profile you requested cannot be displayed. Many Blogger users have not yet elected to publicly share their Profile.”

Nonetheless, Berry said Feller is using porn to get attention on his blog.

“He's posting this stuff on the site, so he obviously knew that this was posted on there, because it's sitting there for everyone to see,” said Berry.

Berry, who said a local student initially discovered the controversial page inside Feller’s blog, called the issue an embarrassment to the commission.

Feller has countered that he was unaware of the pornographic content on his site.

“The jabs at [my] web blog are clear examples of mudslinging, and the dirty politics have gone too far,” he said.

Despite Feller’s claim, Berry said he is planning to present a power point presentation of Feller’s blog at a county meeting tonight when he said he would show cached copies of the adult content from the blog.

There is clearly no love lost between the two commissioners. On a Sept. 28 post to his blog, for example, Feller likened Berry to “the Sheriff and the Jail Keeper,” and said Berry’s bid to become the next mayor of St. Marys should be prevented.

“St. Marys does not need the influence of a pseudo dictator controlling its future,” Feller wrote.
