On Thursday, photos of R&B singer Cassie in the buff surfaced on a number of gossip sites.
But on Friday, all the talk was about Rihanna, whose apparent photos capture her in a bedroom and bathroom in various states of undress.
The gallery of seven photos have become a big traffic monster for sites such as ImageHaven.net, which is hosting the photos and includes adult advertising.
The photos show two closeups of what is clearly Rihanna's face.
A third photo of Rihanna shows her head-to-knee, reflected in a bathroom mirror with a message of "I love you, Robyn. I miss you."
Robyn is Rihanna's legal first name.
Four of the shots, which don’t include Rihanna’s head, show two bare-bottom asses as seen reflected in a mirror.
One breast is pierced and a pink Nike towel is flung over a shoulder hiding the other.
The photos were taken at The London hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., where Rihanna had stayed with boyfriend and singer Chris Brown, according to one source. And all the shots were taken in the same white bathroom and bedroom area.
TheDirty.com said on its website Friday that the Rihanna photos were distributed by an unknown individual named “Young Turk.”
Island Def Jam Music Group, Rihanna's label, late Friday decided to fight back. The label's counsel sent a cease-and-desist letter to at least one website that published the photos.
The letter refers to "unauthorized photos purported to be Rihanna" and demands that the photos be removed from the site. Island Def Jam calls the photos a violation of "the artist's rights."
The letter does not confirm nor deny whether the photos actually are of Rihanna.
The singer, model and beauty queen has been all over the news this year after her cancelled performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Reports surfaced that Brown had victimized Rhianna in Los Angeles just hours prior to the awards program.
After Brown was arrested, an LAPD photo of a beaten-up Rihanna was leaked onto the web.
Cassie, whose nude and semi-nude photos sprung up on Thursday, is the 22-year-old girlfriend and protege of music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.
Cassie on Friday confirmed the photos were hers.
"The recent personal pictures that have been leaked on the Internet of me were hacked and stolen out of my computer," Cassie wrote on her blog. "These photos were obviously never intended for the world to see, and it's sad that people would really take time to steal and post them, it's just evil. At the end of the day, breasts are breasts, mine weren't the first you've seen and they won't be the last."
