The app delivers hundreds of vintage pinups to the iPhone, including bikini, swimsuit, lingerie and calendar shots from the 1930s through the 1950s. The app also makes all images available as wallpaper for the device.
"The user will also find classic candid outdoors photographs, rare burlesque dancer pics and campy underground amateur camera club prints," said a representative for Small View Media. "One can easily flip through and navigate the gallery and download as many of the sexy Pocket Pin-Up photos as they like. There is no extra charge per image."
The struggle for adult developers working on iPhone apps centers around Steve Jobs' longstanding prohibition against anything pornographic appearing on the device. Several apps have made it past the Apple censors by presenting users with scantily clad women, like the iGirl iPhone App, while other companies have simply built iPhone-compatible paysites that mimic the look and feel of apps.
There's also the iPhone app black market, but those apps are only available to users with hearts stout enough to override the base operating system on the device, a procedure also known as "jailbreaking" or "cracking."
