Some are inventive, some are corny and some are downright dumb. Here are a few examples of what’s going on:
• YpsiNews.com, out of Ypsilanti, Mich., reports that LFP Inc. and Vivid are planning to work together to convert commercial space to film their adult videos. The post said that both companies were drawn to Michigan and the 42 percent tax credit for films produced in the state.
• DailyCandy said Jimmyjane will soon release an iPhone application. The app will be released under the name iMoanT and feature three vibration speeds with 10 preset vibration modes, including mix, stir, blend, whip, grind, frappe, puree, liquefy, textulate and tweetify.
• Google-owned YouTube is playing its videos upside-down.
• Social news site Reddit rebranded itself as Reddigg, with a color scheme and layout of rival Digg.
• A competing news organization announced its "O Awards" website had been hacked, having the show description and other event information altered in ways that Publisher Tony Lovett called "repugnant, offensive and contrary to all standards of civilized behavior." It later was made known that Lovett was behind the website revamp and, to his delight, successfully punk'd the news organization's owner.
• And Rising Star PR said John Holmes has joined the roster as “passed on” star. In fact, the company claimed it was getting into that line of business. “Let’s be honest,” publicist Acme Andersson said. “The only other male performer that’s even remotely as famous is Ron Jeremy, and John is sick of the Hedgehog stealing the spotlight. With medical advancements like Viagra and Cialis, we’re certain he’ll be up for anything.”
