ASACP Honors Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick, Evan Seinfeld at XBIZ Awards

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) honored Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick, and Evan Seinfeld with its annual Service Recognition Awards on Feb. 12 at the XBIZ Awards.

Founded in 1996, ASACP operates through the contributions of sponsors and members, its advisory council and volunteers that offer their time and resources. Each year, ASACP’s Service Recognition Award is presented to the person or organization that contribute to the organization consistently.

Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick and Evan Seinfeld were recognized because of public service announcements (PSAs) for the Restricted to Adults (RTA) website label they created. The RTA PSAs remind parents to utilize parental filtering software in order to protect children from viewing age-inappropriate material online.

Thanks for recognizing us, and thanks for letting us help out. It is our honor," Seinfeld said.

ASACP CEO Joan Irvine presented the awards to Seinfeld, who accepted on behalf of himself and Patrick, and Alexander “Monstar” Raymond of The Star Factory, who accepted for Daniels.

Teravision President and adult star Patrick, along with her husband, musician and actor Seinfeld, volunteered their time, resources and star-power to create a PSA for ASACP.

“We are so grateful to Stormy, Tera and Evan for taking the time to make the RTA PSAs and drawing attention to the importance of parental involvement when it comes to protecting children online,” Irvine said.

Patrick and Seinfeld were both happy to help.

"Tera and I are both honored to have been asked to speak on behalf of the ASACP," Seinfeld told XBIZ. "Joan’s tireless efforts to lead the charge in having the industry police itself against child pornography needs the support of the industry. The social responsibility is ours, and at a time when our industry is under such scrutiny, it is important that we all do our share, because one bad apple can truly spoil the perception of the bunch."

According to Irvine, the Harvard University's Berkman Center for Internet and Society recently released the Internet Safety Technical Task Force Report. The task force was founded by and includes 49 state attorneys general, as well as executives from Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, Verizon and AOL. The report included findings and recommendations for improving online child safety.

“In the report they stressed the most important tool to protect children online is parental involvement — which is something Stormy, Tera and Evan have been saying all along in the RTA PSAs,” Irvine said.

As parents and adult performers, Patrick and Seinfeld recognize the importance of protecting children.

"Tera and I are parents and take our responsibilities seriously, regardless of our choice to work in the adult industry," Seinfeld said. "We make sure that all our online sites are RTA-labeled — Restricted to Adults. Make sure yours are too!"

Wicked Pictures contract performer, writer and director Daniels also created a PSA and participated in two press conferences for RTA.

Daniels is currently making headlines as she’s been approached by a political group to run for Senate in 2010 against Senator David Vitter. Daniels has yet to confirm that she will indeed run for Senate.
