Plant Your Wood was developed for the company to participate in the green environmental movement, according to Pink Visual Brand and Product Manager Kim Kysar.
“We initially began by reducing energy consumption at our office through more conventional means, such as shutting down computers at night, recycling and moving to a paperless payroll system,” Kysar said. “But then we asked ourselves, ‘Why stop there?’”
The company is now working to make PinkVisual.com a carbon-neutral site, Kysar said. Pink Visual plans to conserve as much energy as it takes to operate the site.
The new Plant Your Wood DVDs extend the company’s environmentally conscious campaign to its physical product lines. Packaging is made from recycled materials, uses earth-friendly inks, and is 100 percent recyclable.
“We’re also donating $1 from every Plant Your Wood DVD we sell to Trees for the Future, a nonprofit tree planting organization," Kysar said.
The new Male Spectrum line represents a concerted effort on the part of the company to optimize its gay content and enhance its appeal to the gay market, according to Kysar.
“Male Spectrum is unlike anything we've done before,” Kysar said. “We spent the past year seeking out directors whose only focus is producing high-end gay content, and we are very pleased with the results. Male Spectrum’s scenes perform extremely well on MaleSpectrum.com, and we expect that success will translate into strong DVD sales. Our first Male Spectrum title, 'Straight Guys Take the Bait,' was released on Dec. 12, and we’ll be showcasing it heavily in January.”
