The XBIZ Weekly Tech Watch

This week's tech watch brings news of an interactive new feature added to Google signature application, as well as a slew of entertaining new websites.

• One of the biggest developments online this week is Google's addition of Wikipedia-like features to its standard search results. What does this mean? It means that users will be able to comment on and vote on whether certain results are better or worse than others.

Genwi.com has joined the long list of websites dedicated to giving users a better experience finding and organizing great content online.

• Industry professionals who want to earn some extra cash playing video games competitively may want to visit BringIt.com. In addition, GotGame.com is a popular and growing portal for game enthusiasts everywhere.

• Meanwhile, sports fans are flocking to FanIQ.com and BleacherReport.com.

360Cities.net is trying to compile as many panoramic shots of major metropolitan areas as possible.

• Facebook users may have noticed a weird message on their landing page telling them that Facebook had lost their email information. It was a glitch.

• MobileCrunch has a sneak preview of Yahoo's new iPhone application. The struggling tech company has also added an eBay widget to its landing page.

• Webmasters interested in a new perspective on advertising may want to pay a visit to YieldEx.com. On that note, YieldBuild.com helps webmasters manage multiple ad networks on their websites.

• Gizmodo has a walk-through for how to build an HD-ready home entertainment system.

• San Francisco is planning to build a $1 billion support grid for electric cars.

• Industry professionals will want to check out BitGravity.com, a company that's working on a way to stream multiple high-definition streams at once. Who knows if this technology will become available for adult content, but the possibilities for it are intriguing.

Twilio.com offers a variety of services for telephone entrepreneurs, including some interesting new technology in the area of voice-recognition.

LeapFish.com is positioning itself as more cannon fodder for Google.

• Enterprising fans of exotic dancing have concocted this rickshaw-dance pole combo.

• Here's a handy way to convert an old iPod into a cigarette holder.

• Although this has nothing to do with technology, two men sneaked up to the top of Burj Dubai and BASE-jumped off of it. The video must be seen to be believed.
