Colt Studio Lends Imagery to Prop. 8 Fight

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Gay adult production house Colt Studio has lent its iconic imagery to the battle over the passage of Proposition 8 in California.

The company is encouraging any organization to publish the banners that feature various Colt performers with such slogans as “Equality for All” and “Make a Stance for Equality.”

Colt has produced three such advertisements featuring popular performers Devlin, Carl Hardwick and Luke Garrett with Gage Weston.

Since the Nov. 4 election, “we have watched over the last two weeks as rallies across North America and the world have formed and we have all come together for a unified cause,” said Kristofer Weston, Colt’s marketing and project coordinator.

“As the rallies begin to die down it is important for us not to lose the momentum for equality,” he said. “It is very important to keep people focused on where to get the right information. This is why Colt Studio Group is offering up its imagery to help create banners that will draw attention and traffic towards this worthwhile cause.”

They recommend the Colt banners be published on blogs and social networking pages with a link to marriage-equality advocacy website JoinTheImpact.org.

Proposition 8 in California amends the state Constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. As XBIZ has reported, “six same-sex couples filed suit at the California Supreme Court in an attempt to have the vote discarded, arguing that the measure is an illegal constitutional revision.”

Further, “the battle over Proposition 8 was contentious due to the fact that the state had permitted gay and lesbian marriage for four and a half months. An estimated 18,000 couples wed during that period. The legality of those unions is now in doubt.”

Members of the gay adult industry have spoken out against the passage of Proposition 8.
