Wild, whose real name is Michaela Schaffrath, said she’s trying to shed her stage name as she continues her mainstream acting career.
"I can't take it anymore. It has to stop," said Wild, who noted that since she left the porn business, she has appeared in numerous German TV series, but she is always reduced to her past roles in the sex business.
Several years ago, Wild was Germany's most popular female hardcore porn star. She was named "Best German Actress" twice at the Venus Award show.
"Someone can buy 'Gina Wild' and do with it what they will, just as long as we have nothing more to do with it," Schaffrath's manager and husband told the German tabloid Bild.
Wild, a former nurse who now lives in Frankfurt, got started in the adult business after she posed nude for Coupé, one of Germany's best-selling adult magazines.
