The U.K.-based company credits the 20.4 percent increase to consumers spending less on dining and drinking and more on staying in and making the most of its entertainment budget for its growth.
"People still want to be entertained, but they don't have the discretionary income to go out with their mates," said Jason Maskell, Harmony Films' manager of sales and marketing. "Our feedback showed the public is staying in more and they're viewing videos, including ours. They're still looking to make the most of their downtime because they're working as hard as they ever were — or harder."
Maskell also credits the company's performance to the unique nature of the titles Harmony Films produces.
"Our directors, including Gazzman and Tanya Hyde, shoot women we bring together from around the world in locations that are just as diverse," Maskell said. "This isn't your typical American X-rated movie, nor is it the usual European title. Our cast, crew and production quality are what truly sets us apart."
