The showing marks Glitter Films' European debut.
“This is very exciting. 'John' was a risky film to make. Not only was it the first 100 percent kiwi-made XXX boy-boy film, not only was it being made by a woman, but we made porn with soul," company founder Astrid Glitter said. “We asked people what they thought was missing in adult films. The answer was, consistently, a story and real people. That’s what we strive to give them in our films and that’s what makes our films, including 'John,' so different from the rest.”
"John" is described by the company as "a real story, with realistic characters, plots, a generous amount of gay sex scenes, a rocking soundtrack and the acting is good." It was shot with a local cast and crew, and for most of them it was their first adult production, including leading man James L. West.
Glitter Films was founded by Astrid Glitter in 2005 in Auckland, making Glitter New Zealand's first female porn producer. The company has produced videos in the solo, gay, lesbian and straight niches.
