But it works. Think of it as an adult film shot as an adult documentary. Batts takes the viewer along with Flores and gives us a taste of a different side of adult. Each chapter was a new city, a new — and thin, with one exception — girl and a new collection of dildos in scenes tailored for fans of stockings, spanking and girl/girl action. With her extensive wig collection and wardrobe, Flores became a pin-up chameleon. That girl knows how to dress herself sexy.
The final scene features Flores in a sweat-inducing photo shoot with Kane who, wearing a fedora, suspenders and low-lung trousers, stole the show. The two get down for a sex-filled finale, and I truly believe they enjoyed each other. How refreshing!
"Voluptuous Life" reveals Flores' ultimate goal — to challenge the norm of what is considered hot and sexy, and for women to explore sexuality regardless of their size. This message, with help from Batts' keen eye for lighting, color and camera angles, was represented artistically and honestly, and it pushed me to rethink my definition of sexy.
