After Dark

A highly anticipated drama, “After Dark” introduces story-driven big-budget porn to Greg Lansky’s Vixen production house. Directed by Kayden Kross and featuring 2018 Vixen Angel of the Year Tori Black, “After Dark” tells the tale of embattled executive Tori Blackwell’s last night as a free woman, before she has to serve jail time for embezzlement and insider trading. It is full of sexual excess and showcases a mix ranging from vanilla sex to an outrageous orgy, and everything in between. That includes anal for you bum-lovers.

Kross’ drama opens at 6:00 p.m. sharp and spans twelve hours of desperate and hedonistic delight, as Blackwell begins the binge-fest. The exec first executes a shady money transfer and meets her personal driver, Juan Lucho, who gives off a real “Grand Theft Auto” vibe. Ever the domme, Tori takes charge, fucking the surprised subordinate through sunset and setting an appointment for 6:00 a.m. on the dot, the following day. The great office windows make a marvelous backdrop and set the stage for Blackwell’s night of debauchery ahead. As they roll through a host of vanilla sex positions, the sun sets and the city lights up as a metaphor for the dark and sexual creature of the night that Tori fast becomes.

Following a massive facial cumshot, Tori sets off for a high stakes poker game with the likes of Johnny Sins and his “arm candy” Adriana Chechik while waxing philosophically about success and decision making. “I am successful because I took it further than the rest,” she says. Black is there among the L.A. elite, not to win a hand, but to make a statement. She puts $100,000 down on a single hand, forcing all but Sins to fold.

Kross and Lansky’s mega production definitely shines at the poker table. It looks like a cross between “Oceans Eleven” and “21” with meticulous editing, time-shifts and lots of cuts. And then there’s Adriana Chechik, looking ever so tempting and sinister with that massive snake coiled around red dress. Tori Black dazzles in these dialog-laden scenes. She’s so feisty and intimidating as she stares down Sins — fully aware that he’s cheating. It’s a believable performance and tense too. She teases him, bending Chechik to her will and eventually invites Sins to join for a delectable three-way. I like the way Chechik plays it. She doesn’t quite understand what’s going on, but she yields to Blackwell’s dominance.

Kross captures a wildly erotic moment early on with Sins and Chechik making out over Tori’s visibly wet pussy. While Tori cums uncontrollably, Johnny and Adriana play it cool, sensually licking and putting on a show for each other. Wild fucking results in a creampie that Tori snowballs back into Chechik’s open mouth. It’s out of control. Through voiceovers, Tori has some words on neofeminism and even the #MeToo movement. Rather than righting wrongs, she has chosen to live in the moment, taking full advantage of every opportunity no matter the cost. Her mantra, reminiscent of the opening lines of “Trainspotting” is “choose money, choose power, choose sex.”

Blackwell goes snooping around and finds a key to sneak into Markus Dupree’s house, but she’s not the only one to have snuck in. She watches from above as Wolfe and Janice Griffith fool around in the pool. The water does little to cool down this fiery girl-girl sex scene and Kross works wonders with the dimly lit set, capturing sharply contrasted bodies bathed in that blue watery reflection. Wolfe is a vision of sexual energy, arching her back, sprawling on the deck boards and moaning uncontrollably. They even fuck dangerously close to the fire pit. Be careful! As hot as the scene is, it does little to advance the story. Tori smokes a cigarette and quietly watches the couple with voyeuristic interest. When it’s over, the girls run away and she steps into the house.

Inside, Blackwell undresses and seductively approaches Dupree’s bed as he sleeps, peeling back the sheets to reveal quite the piece of morning wood. She gets on top and wakes him up with a grind. The focus is on anal and even includes a touch of rimming, serving as a primer for extreme climax. The coolest thing is that it doesn’t end at the facial. Dupree stays in the zone and fiercely finger fucks Tori before she finishes with a slow deepthroat on his still hard cock.

“After Dark” ends in the last-supper inspired orgy to end all orgies. There is so much star power that this scene serves as a who’s who in porn. Kross recreates Da Vinci's famous Christian painting with a hedonistic twist that might make Caligula blush. Heavenly music plays as the orgy begins, with our anti-hero Ms. Blackwell drinking wine and seductively staring into the camera center stage. It is beautiful, savage and intense. Words can scarcely describe it. Like “The Matrix,” you have to see it for yourself. Be warned, it isn’t going to be for everybody. With blatantly religious overtones, the scene aims to be controversial. It is also long with nearly one hour of continuous sex.

“After Dark” is a big win for Vixen and story-based pornography. It’s a dramatic big-budget production with a compelling plot and some of the best and most beautifully filmed sex of 2018. It feels like some of the great porn of the late ‘90s and early 2000s filmed with today’s ultra high-def equipment.

You can tell a lot of work went into the final product. Everything is so polished and perfect right down to the last detail. A collaboration between two perfectionist pornographic artists, the Lansky-Kross partnership exceeds fan expectations of beautiful porn, expert editing and surprisingly good dialogue. “After Dark” is one of the best XXX movies of the year. This is must-have film for any glamcore/artcore aficionado and for all fans yearning for a return to the glamorous lavish porn of yesteryear.
