The Stillest Hour

A slow-burning, twisty, psychosexual, quasi-thriller — you simply cannot describe this studio’s output in simple, straightforward terms — that takes its own sweet time to unfold, this web series from multiple XBIZ Award-winning CockyBoys will reward patient fans of all-male adult who crave more than the usual suck-and-fuck.

The casting of Will Wikle in his porn debut stirred up the blogosphere thanks to Wikle’s media career as a reality show contestant and New York nightlife habitué with a healthy social media following. He is joined by Colby Keller, a controversial figure of late, and one of the industry’s best actors, with an expressive face and physical grace, and always fully invested in his onscreen sexplay. He yelps and moans as if that blowjob or fuck session is the most erotic thing he’s ever experienced.

CockyBoys marquee star Levi Karter rounds out the featured trio of performers. He’s trim and adorable with ridged abs and a bemused demeanor. Keller towers over him and dominates Karter physically, but the pair are exceedingly well-matched as sexual partners, whether he is bent over a stairwell banister, with his legs braced up on the wall — all the better to allow Keller to feast on his bubble butt — or riding Keller’s cock in a secluded spot inside an abandoned building in a more sensual, passionate encounter, the two generate steam heat.

Keller plays a volatile artist who quickly unravels when Karter insinuates himself into Keller’s life and routine, just as Wikle, as Keller’s uptight therapist, finds his own carefully micromanaged lifestyle coming undone when Karter moves into his house. It’s not clear which Karter is “real” and which is a flashback, a dream sequence or something else entirely. The ending (no spoilers) imparts more questions than answers.

Wikle, a handsome blonde with striking blue eyes, possesses a superb, proportional physique. He and Keller share explosive chemistry in a brief sequence that revisits Keller’s assignation with Karter and later when he finally prods Keller into revealing his true desires. Even then, the power balance shifts again, as Wikle services Keller, slurping on his infamous boner with genuine relish and relaxing into one of Keller’s trademark piston-fucks (although the brief few minutes as he flexes his abs and swivels his hips as he bounces in Keller’s lap, essentially fucking himself with Keller’s own cock, is terrific and quite erotic).

The film's title comes from Nietzsche’s novel “Thus Spake Zarasthustra,” which may provide some clues as to the purpose and intent of the interplay between the three men at the center of the sexpic.

CockyBoys honcho Jake Jaxson wrote and directed. Tech credits are strong, as usual, with actual coverage of dialogue scenes that sustains viewer interest, camerawork that effectively switches to handheld and back again, and editing that flips back-and-forth, replaying snippets of scenes, or recasting them with different players. A special highlight to the scoring, particularly the evocative underscore during the long-awaited matchup between Wikle and Keller.
