Fifty Shades of Grey A XXX Adaption

Christian Grey (Ryan Driller) is a young billionaire who doesn’t like being tied down to one woman. Not so much because he’s a player, but because he has an aversion to displaying vulnerability — be it physical or emotional. He literally lashes out against intimacy, choosing instead to treat his relationships with women as business deals, contracts and all.

Anastasia Steele (Allie Haze) falls for Christian, finding his emotional aloofness frustrating, yet dangerous and sexy. He’s a man of mystery. A man who speaks softly and carries a big flogger. She scares at first spank, but eventually learns to love the pain, especially once she realizes that Christian has been in pain all along, and uses that to free him from his hang-ups — most of which appear to stem from his kinky submissive encounters with an older woman (wickedly played by Julia Ann) during his younger and impressionable years.

“Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation” is just that: an adaptation, not a spoof. Director Jim Powers doesn’t poke fun nor stray too far from the novel’s narrative, choosing instead only to enhance the story’s eroticism. From the two sex scenes between Anastasia and Christian — the first in which she surrenders her virginity to him — to the kinky sex-play in between (i.e. her first spanking, her exposure to Ben-wa balls during a masquerade), the movie successfully brings to life many of the naughty words in James’ book.

Driller and Haze own their respective roles and display a chemistry that will only grow more explosive in the upcoming sequels. Jaslene Jade, who could be a doppelganger for “SAW” actress Shawnee Smith, is brilliant in her portrayal of Leila the sub. But, sadly, her scenes are all non-sex.
