Scrubs: A XXX Parody

The porn sitcom parody is a hard beast to tame. The replication of the settings is difficult; the reproduction of familiar characters is a challenge; and writing a script that is true to the conventions of the sitcom being parodied and the conventions of the adult video is an almost insurmountable feat.

But not impossible, as "Scrubs — A XXX Parody" proves. The familiar characters are all here, as are the settings and the anything-can-happen intrusion of special effects and non-sequitur cut-ins — many of which here are sex scenes. The joke-filled script has the same smartass quality as its mainstream counterpart.

Sex scenes are seamlessly integrated, including a scalding James Deen/Alexis Texas/Joanna Angel threeway and an in-character encounter between Tori Black and Jack Lawrence. Closing threeway with Deen, Ashlynn Brooke and Kris Slater ends the vid on an up note.

Deen and Brooke stand out as the main characters, but there isn’t a false note or wrong move in the entire DVD, on either side of the camera. Barry Wood's videography is luminous, and editing by Gabrielle Anex ably imitates the mainstream show's look.

Second disc includes two behind-the-scenes featurettes, outtakes, a bonus scene with Brooke and Tommy Gunn, and a stills gallery.
