Attention spans just keep getting shorter. Top marketing gurus will tell you that you have, at best, five seconds to catch someone’s attention and hold their gaze on whatever you’re presenting. What this means for cam shows is that content creators have to work even harder to capture and maintain audiences’ attention. Instead of letting this fact discourage or overwhelm you, use it as motivation to become your most creative self!
Remember that audiences are coming to see you, so the more of the “authentic you” that you deliver, the longer your audiences will stay engaged — and the longer your show is, the better window you have to generate as much revenue as possible. With that in mind, we’ve compiled four tried and true methods for creating longer shows and ultimately holding the attention of your audiences for as long as possible. Let’s dive in!
Follow the simple formula of asking your fans what they want, teasing it early in your broadcast and delivering it later.
SEGMENT YOUR SHOWS
What do the most-watched news and late-night comedy shows have in common? Segmentation! That means differently themed sections of the program that offer individualized, organized content meant to reinvigorate audiences who are in it for the long haul. By segmenting your broadcasts, audiences know to expect something new, fresh and often unexpected throughout your entire show, and are more likely to stick around out of interest and curiosity.
Hook your audience’s interest via a playful dance or striptease, but don’t give it all away at the beginning. Offer your audience a hint of what’s to come. This is also a great time to share upcoming segments of your show, so viewers know what they’re in for and why they should stay tuned. Then, dial it up with a peep show, offering a quick nip slip or glimpse of your nethermost regions, before you start unleashing the action and getting down to business once those tokens come in.
FOCUS ON YOUR PACING
We know how easy it is to get excited about being on camera and bringing ultimate pleasure to your faithful following. It’s completely natural for you to want to dive into the moment and get right down to business. But fight those urges and pace yourself in order to lengthen your show in the most delicious way possible. Engage with your viewers, take your time and ease into your show. Pacing also helps you tease your audience and encourages them to tip to see more.
OFFER YOUR FANS AN ABUNDANCE OF VARIETY
If you haven’t done so yet, focus your branding model on establishing yourself as someone who is a constant source of creativity. When it comes to pleasure-seeking, variety is truly the spice of life. You must maintain the element of surprise in your shows to avoid becoming predictable and ultimately stale. With the holidays on the horizon, create a fun themed show to take advantage of folks being in the spirit of the season, or announce a challenge that you plan to achieve during your broadcast, such as number of orgasms or how deep you can go with your toys.
Try out new locations as well. If your fans are used to seeing you stream from your bedroom or regular production space, why not surprise them and switch it up? Private outdoor spaces and wild locations can add a seductive new element to your shows, especially if you convey the risk factor involved with shooting in this particular location. When promoting this upcoming show, you can either tease your audiences with where exactly you will be, or promote the show as a pop-up in a surprise location for the ultimate anticipation factor.
Another powerful way to spice up a scene and add diversity to your broadcasts is to invite a special guest to perform with you. Your audiences will be thrilled with this surprise and watching more than one person getting intimate live on camera is a fantasy for many.
ASK YOUR FANS WHAT KEEPS THEM WATCHING
The last and final tip is the most powerful one of them all: understand the wants and desires of your fans. Promoting and hosting your own AMA on the topic of what your faithful followers hope to see will help you assemble a list of ideas for elements to include in upcoming performances. Or create an online poll using your social media channels to ask viewers what they’re craving.
Better yet, ask your audience during a stream. This is a powerful tool for engagement and elongating your shows, giving fans a chance to direct the scene. You can also promise the person making a request that you will honor it — but not until later, forcing them to stay tuned until you fulfill their wish.
Follow the simple formula of asking your fans what they want, teasing it early in your broadcast and delivering it later. Ultimately, the key to making folks stay tuned into your show longer is to convey the fact that they will be rewarded handsomely for the time they invest in you.
