Q&A: Jewelz Blu Loves Cosplaying With Fire

Q&A: Jewelz Blu Loves Cosplaying With Fire

As boldly colorful and spellbinding as the anime characters she so effortlessly cosplays, Jewelz Blu has an immediately recognizable style and flair that has propelled her to rapid stardom.

From her brightly-hued fashion and aptly azure hair, to her talent for easily slipping into latex and bringing to life fan-favorite characters like Rei Ayanami of “Evangelion” or Hinata from “Naruto,” Blu is a supremely multifaceted professional through and through.

I have evolved into a super multifaceted creatrix during my time in the industry and I am still evolving each day.

She deftly balances shoots for big-name studios via her agency Motley Models with self-produced content that she continually refines through evolving technology, creative techniques and a tight-knit team of collaborators.

Then, when she isn’t wielding a warrior-goddess blade or whipping out a laser blaster while fans talk nerdy to her, Blu is a whirling and twirling fire dancer no less aflame with burning ardor than the heated afterimages flowing in her wake.

Now, as Creator of the Month, she dazzles us with her insight, candid charm and grand plans for that fast-approaching horizon filled with limitless possibilities.

XBIZ: Tell us first what inspired you to enter the adult entertainment industry.

BLU: I’ve always had a creative flair in my spirit, so combining it with a love of sex and erotic art — I knew it was for me. I’ve always looked at the human body as art and I love the freedom that being in the adult industry can bring. A little over three years ago, I fully committed to doing OnlyFans and camming. I feel like porn was part of my sexual evolution and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made!

XBIZ: How have you evolved, professionally and personally, since joining the industry?

BLU: I have evolved into a super-multifaceted creatrix and I am still evolving each day. I have definitely gained more on-camera confidence and evolved my work into a larger scale as well. As an industry professional, on sets I am able to guide my scene partners, if they’re new, and give advice.

XBIZ: What's it like being a seasoned Motley Models performer and working with the agency?

BLU: I honestly love being part of the Motley Models and it’s been a wonderful journey. Next year will be my third year in porn and third year with my agency and it feels good! I am definitely being represented by the best, and my agency and agent, Ryan, are always working hard to give opportunities and offerings for amazing shoots and experiences, not just to me but to all of their models. I have felt very supported by Motley since day one, especially with my look being “different” and with what I want to accomplish in this industry. I am very blessed.

XBIZ: How do you balance your time and energy between studio shoots, your many revenue streams and social media?

BLU: I like to stay very organized. Running a lot of pages is a lot of work, as well as filming for myself and companies in between. The best way to balance all of this, for me, is time management and keeping a strict schedule. I plan out my self-produced content/shoots at least one to two months in advance.

I also set monthly goals before the upcoming month on what I want to tackle and accomplish — so creating a game plan is also essential. And I love writing things down in a schedule and keeping a digital calendar as well so I stay on top of everything. I have my small production team assist me with filming and editing for bigger projects, as well as when I am doing self-produced content, so it makes life a little easier.

XBIZ: What is your strategy and vision for weaving together unique set designs, lighting and visuals in your content?

BLU: As my content production has progressed, I’ve invested more into learning about lighting and decor to capture better visuals on camera. I’ve always had an interest in set design and I have been adding more elaborate sets into my self-produced content. I aim to create an in-depth experience with my videos and so much goes into that, from outfits to lighting and props, etc. I want my viewer to feel fully immersed in what they are watching!

I love using mood lighting for my set and different lens filters on the camera to create a dreamy vibe for what I am creating, as well. I get inspired by fantasy themes, anime and trippy aesthetics, as well as bright colors. I love incorporating these elements into my content and it honestly makes it so fun for me.

Recently, I built a “Candyland”-inspired set for my Christmas content and did a lot of crafting and styling of different props, such as Christmas trees and themed color palettes. Prior to actual set-building, I made a sketch of my set, listed what items were needed and then bought/ crafted everything to piece it together. I even made a YouTube vlog about it, so you can see the process.

XBIZ: Let's talk cosplay. What outfits and characters have been your favorite to make and act out, and which ones do your fans love most?

BLU: My favorite cosplays so far this year are my Rei-pocalyspe shoot, drawing inspiration from the anime “Evangelion,” in full latex cosplay. This is one of the biggest passion projects I’ve put on to date, in collaboration with the models who cosplayed with me. This project featured cosplayers from out of state, and I rented a huge studio and used my production team to help film and capture it. I made YouTube vlogs and a showcase reel of the cosplay.

My second favorite one that I’ve done this year is my Hinata cosplay, where I made some fun, lewd content for sites. As for my fans, they love my Hinata cosplay and my “Evangelion” cosplay as Rei the most, which is perfect because the characters are from my two favorite animes. They’re definitely my comfort characters when it comes to cosplay.

I’ve been diving more into the world of cosplay overall and incorporating it more into my content on my fan sites, while showcasing it on my YouTube channel. I have even gotten to do some fun cosplay shoots for VRCosplayX.com this year and my fans love it.

XBIZ: Discuss the content and features of your official membership site, BluDreamsXXX.com, which you launched in November.

BLU: As of right now, I am going to start implementing personal messaging features for members, while continuing to offer scenes exclusive to my site. Members and nonmembers have the option to order custom videos and video chats there, while members get full access to all videos and photo sets before anyone else. I am so excited to see my site grow more with the scenes I have planned.

XBIZ: How did you become a fire dancer and what other unique talents do you have?

BLU: I first got into fire dancing about five years ago after learning how to hoop dance and meeting a big community of fire dancers/burners — people who go to Burning Man. I fell in love completely and told myself I had to learn. I am mostly self-taught and have learned a lot through the flow community and my friends who spin fire as well. I also dance with LED props. As for other unique talents, I am very musical and I know how to play several wind instruments — flute, clarinet and saxophone — and I’ve even dabbled in aerial arts.

XBIZ: Looking back on 2021, what have been the biggest career highlights for you?

BLU: 2021 has been an absolutely amazing year and one of my favorite highlights was being the Twistys Treat of the Month for September; the shoot was an absolute dream come true and Holly Randall put together something perfect for me that truly emulated my essence as a performer and as a person.

Another big highlight was this Brazzers scene I did earlier this year where I got to fire dance in it — and this is the second scene I’ve done where I’ve got to play with fire. It was the coolest experience being able to combine two of my favorite things once again.

I also did an epic cosplay scene in my favorite cosplay for VRCosplayX as Rei Ayanami from “Evangelion” — safe to say I’m doing all the things I want to do on set and in my scenes. I feel like I’ve come into my own as a performer this year and it’s such a blessing to work with all the big companies, as well as self-produce some beautiful visual art.

XBIZ: What are your major ambitions for 2022 and beyond?

BLU: As a new year is upon us, I have big ambitions and plans all around. I want to continue doing what I am doing but take it to the next level even more. I want to do more big production shoots on my own for passion projects like cosplay and for my adult content.

I want to build my site up more and even possibly do some mini features for it. I am also planning to launch my merch site by the end of January, where I will feature cute graphic tees and other fun themed merch; I have some surprises and I don’t want to give them all away yet.

There are a lot of “firsts” I have yet to do in porn, so I am hoping that 2022 will be the year where I tackle these. Lastly, I want to connect with my fan base even more in person, meaning I plan to do as many conventions as I can this year and even cosplay/anime conventions. There are big things on the horizon!
