As one of the vanguard visionaries masterminding the meteoric ascent of ManyVids into a global brand, Pamela has flourished from her earliest days for the company as a social media specialist in 2015, blossoming into the marketing team lead.
Working closely with CEO Bella French to manifest the dreams of thousands with innovative technology, marvelous merchandise and the tools necessary to fulfill creative ambitions, she never truly rests … for there is always another horizon to reach, another milestone to triumphantly cross and another clip artist to empower.
Growing alongside the clips platform, which has unfurled dozens of major features like MV Live camming and the beloved MV Awards, Pamela always strives to stay rooted in the very MV Stars who have made such an empire possible. She channels their passions and artistry through the prisms of vast marketing campaigns, casting diamond-bright digital streams into a vivid tapestry of monetized fantasies, aglitter with evolutionary and revolutionary beauty.
To unlock the thoughts and hopes of such a key figure in the manifold ManyVids universe, XBIZ sat down to chat with Pamela, the Woman of the Month.
XBIZ: Describe your professional background prior to working in the adult industry.
Pamela: To be honest, I always thought of myself as a bit of a fly-by-night “Jane of all trades” — always changing roles and interests, while never feeling fulfilled.
I am a Gemini with a fickle nature, so I was always drawn to the ever-changing and never felt satisfied settling on just one job, one task or one project. You can always find me working on a hundred things at once.
When I landed this job in 2015 as the first social media specialist at MV, I started noticing that all of the professional characteristics I loved about working were rampant here, and it felt right!
XBIZ: And what led you to join the ManyVids team?
Pamela: In 2015, my sister Laura had an interview with the three MV owners for a job in customer care, and during that interview, she mentioned my interest in a position — they liked her so much, we ended up getting hired at the same time!
I started two weeks after she did and was really excited to be part of a small team with big dreams. I was working directly with Bella (our CEO) every day and was (and still am) so thankful for everything I learned from her.
It was a bit of a difficult time in my life, and she didn’t even know that by being my mentor and believing in me, she really did change my life. So for that, I am eternally grateful.
XBIZ: How has your role evolved at the company, leading to your current marketing position?
Pamela: My role at MV has evolved tremendously and rapidly over the course of these four-and-a-half years. I am extremely proud of the fact that I work for a company who appreciates hard work and helps you grow.
Even though I started off as a social media specialist, I quickly wanted to take on more, and I transformed and evolved within the marketing department.
Earlier this year, I was promoted to the marketing team lead and I am proudly enjoying and thriving in my new role!
XBIZ: Discuss your main day-to-day and long-term responsibilities for ManyVids.
Pamela: MV Stars, MV Stars and MV Stars! Although my day-to-day and long-term responsibilities involve many different projects on the go (both small and large), and I am working on everything from marketing campaigns to feature launches to upcoming events and more, my main focus always has been and always will be the MV Stars.
Since I started working at ManyVids, it was my first instinct to immediately be drawn to the MV Stars and want to know more about them and help them. I can’t count the number of beautiful thank you messages I’ve received from the wonderful content creators on our platform. I made it my personal mission from Day One to help them achieve success in any way possible, and to make sure they felt someone was here to listen and care.
Most people would think that marketing is where it ends, because my job title tells you that’s what I do best, but the truth is, it’s much more than that. It’s a personal connection to these creators. While it’s true that I am a marketing team lead first, at the end of the day, I am also a friend and I am happy that they feel that. I will do whatever it takes to help them achieve their goals, feel heard and succeed.
XBIZ: Tell us about an innovative marketing campaign you oversaw from raw conception to successful execution.
Pamela: I am lucky to be part of a very open and inclusive team. I have always been really thankful for the fact that everyone is treated as equals. Of course, we have job titles, but here at the office, everyone’s opinion matters.
When it comes to any initiative or marketing campaign we do, there is never a sole person responsible. Working as a team and being surrounded by intelligent and wholehearted people is a major part of what I love most about my job.
From conception to execution, every launch is a team effort. Although I’ve played a big part in many successful campaigns, I could never take all the credit because everything we do, we do as a team!
XBIZ: How does ManyVids stay ahead of the curve in the increasingly competitive camming and clips market, on the tech side of the site as far as features?
Pamela: By staying 10 steps ahead, always, hahaha! No, but seriously, we never stop moving. Working at a fast pace with no desire of stopping is what we do.
We always have our eyes open and are constantly evolving, both behind the scenes and in the spotlight. Continuously growing the team with brilliant minds, while we all have our eyes on the bigger prize is what drives us.
With our goals of changing the adult business and the way performers are treated, making waves in an industry that’s seen destructive developments, it didn’t take long to start seeing positive changes, and this only fueled our fire to keep doing more for those who make this industry what it is — the creators.
XBIZ: Talk about a business challenge you surmounted, gaining invaluable wisdom in the process.
Pamela: Honestly, I am someone who feels that you can take something positive from any situation. I find myself searching for value and opportunity in the darkest places, so almost every single challenge I have faced — both in and out of business — has helped me build myself up and made me wiser, and I am thankful for it all. There are no bad days ... only good days and learning days.
XBIZ: How do you harness the highly influential MV Community of creators to promote brand awareness and fan engagement?
Pamela: Our MV Community is built by our MV Stars and they have always been free to promote whatever they want, however they want. I truly believe that the reason our brand has been so successful is because of that freedom.
We don’t force anything and believe the best thing for our business partners is for them to be themselves, always. We are one of the only clip sites/cam sites that allows external links directly on the platform and don’t try to restrict them to using one platform. We don’t believe in stunting their growth and success and we want what’s best for them.
With that freedom comes trust and it feels great knowing that when our content creators promote our brand, it’s completely by choice. Our MV Community is 100 percent authentic!
XBIZ: From your MV Awards to your social media blitzes, what are your top three most impactful initiatives that have energized models?
Pamela: Our most impactful initiative recently has definitely been MV Social. Giving MV Stars a social media feed built directly into the platform has had a huge impact in so many ways.
With so many mainstream social networks constantly suspending and silencing adult entertainers, it was a no-brainer that we had to provide a safe alternative at our earliest convenience.
MV Stars have been enjoying posting and interacting with their fans on a platform where they don’t have to worry and can just be their true, authentic selves. This was another step in the right direction for our business partners, and our entire industry.
MV Live is something else that changed the MV Community completely, as it is another solid feature that MV Stars were excited to use to generate income, grow their following and get a step closer to being successful independent entrepreneurs.
Finally, our newest initiative, the MV Community Awards (an extension to our annual awards based on the MV Social and MV Live aspects of ManyVids) were a huge success! With 28 winners crowned on Aug. 11, we’re already looking forward to the 2020 MV Community Awards!
All three of those initiatives will continue to grow as we work on adding more great additions to each of them, so make sure you keep an eye on our blog for updates!
XBIZ: Any major ambitions for the ManyVids brand in the final months of 2019 ... and beyond?
Pamela: You’ll have to stay tuned! Of course, we’re planning a lot of great things for the rest of 2019 and beyond, but our mission will always remain the same. Our MV Community can expect to see more awesome feature launches and more opportunities to succeed. We will keep breaking as many boundaries as possible to fight the stigma around adult entertainment and keep dedicating our efforts to making this career choice a valued and respected one.
