Q&A: Taylor HouseWifeSwag Celebrates BBW Triumphs

Q&A: Taylor HouseWifeSwag Celebrates BBW Triumphs

Big. Beautiful. Women. For centuries, artists and admirers alike have worshiped these curvaceous goddesses, whose hale and hearty bodies radiate voluptuously feminine allure.

From the canvasses of Flemish scholar Sir Peter Paul Rubens — whose very name inspired the term “Rubenesque,” given his visual celebration of full-figured ladies — to the digital streams of BBW content purchased by loyal fans, their sex appeal is both timeless and hotter than ever.

I will always be an advocate for people learning to love themselves in a world where we are told from an early age that we are not good enough. It’s important to identify the value in the body you’re in and even if you wish to change things, keep love and kindness at the core of your acceptance of yourself.

Now, 2018 XBIZ Best BBW Cam Model Taylor HouseWifeSwag is going above and beyond her aesthetic virtues, advocating for body-positivity and leveraging her flourishing fame to uplift other cam models and clip artists.

For the challenges are many along the path to fortune and fame, as cultural ideals pushed by mainstream fashion magazines, health gurus and even porn itself often glorify petite frames or classic hourglass physiques. Not to mention, big-breasted BBWs enjoy the privilege of being more “acceptable” than their less buxom peers, as HouseWifeSwag so aptly notes, for she is ever conscious of her place in this diverse community.

To better comprehend the complexities, opportunities and latest trends for BBWs in an ever-shifting industry, not to mention honoring a beloved standard-bearer, XBIZ sought out this exclusive interview with the passionate HouseWifeSwag.

XBIZ: What led you to become a cam model and clip artist?

Taylor: I honestly sort of just fell into it. I started my Tumblr as a joke with a friend to see who could keep a blog for the longest, because we thought the website was annoying — and I ended up discovering an incredible community and never stopped.

I posted things that I’m passionate about, like sex and body-positivity, mental health, exploring and discussing kinks, etc. I would stream on one of those safe-for-work free video chat rooms with my followers because I loved interacting with them and I wanted a more intimate and realtime connection with them. That evolved into me thinking, “Hey … it’d be really cool if I could just … show my boobs on here too?” and that’s when a few people brought up webcamming.

I had never really heard of it, I did no research (which I don’t recommend doing, by the way), and just jumped in. That was four years ago in May and I’ve never looked back. It’s one of the best decisions of my life.

As far as clips are concerned, I spent a long time thinking that they weren’t something I wanted to do. It felt like a lot of effort for little reward. I think I decided to do my first few clips as a test run and since I didn’t really know what I wanted to create yet, I made a few fetish clips. When I started creating my taboo and more story-driven videos, that’s when I really fell in love with creating content.

My income shifted tremendously and now most of the money I make is on clip sales. I love being able to tell a story and becoming a different character. I love putting together a story and collecting and creating props to fully immerse the viewer. I could talk about videos forever.

XBIZ: Describe the “Taylor HouseWifeSwag” brand in a nutshell.

Taylor: Oh goodness … since I didn’t really “plan” on being in the adult industry, I never really re-branded from my Tumblr, so I don’t have the usual alternative first and last name. My real name is Taylor and luckily, the people who support me embrace my authentic self.

My brand is not a persona, it isn’t any sort of act, it’s just me. It’s overly emotional, passionate, extra and full of love. And lots of fake blood. I realize “swag” went out of style in, like, 2011 but I could never rebrand.

XBIZ: How do you split your time between clips and camming?

Taylor: I’ve maintained a very consistent cam schedule of Monday and Friday weekly since I started. In my opinion, it’s really important to be consistent so people know when to expect you online. I’ve even had people change their entire work schedules around when I’m online so they can start and end their week with me.

Clips are more difficult because I am a mother of three so the balancing act can be more challenging. I typically film two to three times a week after they’re in bed and when I film, I try to do multiple videos to really maximize my time. I’m basically always working but I love it, so it rarely feels like work.

XBIZ: What are your preferred platforms for selling content? Why?

Taylor: ManyVids, hands down. They have given me more opportunities than any other company and I feel genuinely accepted and appreciated there. They are continuously innovating and striving to elevate the platform so that creators benefit. I had the opportunity to meet some of the team and they are all amazing. I feel really fortunate to have made MV my home.

XBIZ: Talk about your approach to social media marketing.

Taylor: Connecting with the people who support me is one of my favorite things about what I do. I genuinely love it, so I think it makes it easy to engage. I’d say the majority of my social media is geared towards interaction and getting to know the people who support me.

I release a monthly calendar every month and stick to it so people know when and where things are happening. I love creating video trailers for my bigger projects, to build hype, and I utilize auto-sale tweets as a way to bring traffic to my videos.

XBIZ: What are the unique opportunities and challenges of being a BBW cam model?

Taylor: You absolutely have to work harder to be seen and even then, it can be difficult to be acknowledged or recognized by companies or even peers. Being fat in a space that used to be reserved for the “ideal” model and body can feel really isolating and it’s easy to fall into a cycle of self-doubt and scrutiny.

I recognize that my body type is more widely accepted by society because I am a fat girl who also has big boobs, etc. and I understand that these attributes come with privilege.

There are a lot of BBW models who do not receive the recognition they deserve. There are so many talented people who get passed up because they don’t fit this imaginary “mold” of what earlier generations expected “porn stars”to look like. Fortunately, the industry is evolving and cam and clip creation has certainly shifted the overall tone.

XBIZ: Discuss your body-positive advocacy efforts.

Taylor: I will always be an advocate for people learning to love themselves in a world where we are told from an early age that we are not good enough. It’s important to identify the value in the body you’re in and even if you wish to change things, keep love and kindness at the core of your acceptance of yourself.

If you wish to make changes, it’s important to do so because you want to, not because you feel pressured to. I will continue to be vocal about the lack of inclusion of BBWs in general, but especially in the adult industry, because it’s something that affects a lot of people — including myself — obviously.

XBIZ: What was it like being a panelist at XBIZ Miami this year and winning Best BBW Cam Model at the 2018 XBIZ Cam Awards?

Taylor: XBIZ Miami was my first-ever adult industry event and with the opportunity to speak on a panel and the nomination, I was nervous. I’m an outgoing person so I knew once I got there I’d feel better, but the time leading up to it, before I had met anyone, was pretty stressful. Fortunately, I had an amazing time. I met some of the most wonderful people and felt really included. I can’t wait to attend again next year.

XBIZ: Any advice for aspiring cam models and clip artists?

Taylor: Success doesn’t happen overnight. Building up your community is important and if you want to achieve longevity, putting in the time to build genuine relationships and friendships will allow your community to grow organically.

For cam, create and stick to a schedule. Be your genuine self because it’s much easier than having to maintain a character. Be mindful of your safety. For clips, it can be difficult to see the kind of content you want to be producing if you don’t currently have the means, but make the best out of what you have.

Some of my first videos were filmed with my webcam and a lamp, and seeing my growth to where I am now feels really good. If you want to start, you should. And do things the way you want to do them, even if it isn’t what everyone else is doing.

XBIZ: Give us a glimpse of your ambitions for the upcoming year and beyond.

Taylor: I want to continue to push myself creatively and learn new things. It’s a dream of mine to release a short film and try my hand at directing a bigger project with other models. I’d love to continue the momentum of this past year and collect more souls so we can grow Team Taylor into an even stronger community.
