Q&A: Alexandros Kamberos Uplifts MyDirtyHobby Brand

MyDirtyHobby brands itself as “The Adult Social Network,” bringing together all kinds of performers, clip artists and cam models to shake their moneymakers on the site.

With a community activity feed showcasing the latest updates from amateurs in Europe and North America, not to mention a video-selling section and several gorgeous MyDirtyHobby exclusive models, the platform is pushing hard to become a go-to hub of sinful delights.

Our contests are carefully selected to help the amateurs boost their monthly activity and have the opportunity to win special prizes. We try to differentiate these every time to keep the interest going.

For any amateurs wanting to share their dirty hobbies with the world, marketing manager Alexandros Kamberos ensures that they sign up and stick around (and that they have a steady flow of paying customers), through a combination of ads, events and social media efforts.

To learn more about Kamberos and his ambitions at MyDirtyHobby, XBIZ sat down with the marketing magister for this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: Tell us about your professional background before the adult industry. What led you to join MyDirtyHobby?

Kamberos: I was in the online gaming industry so MyDirtyHobby seemed like an interesting challenge, as it would require a lot of imagination and good strategy to be able to promote a product, which is still considered taboo for the mainstream media.

XBIZ: Describe your role for the company, as marketing manager.

Kamberos: I am in charge of the product advertising, campaigns events and social media. My team produces all adverts/marketing media for the product and brainstorms on what to do next to be both fun and media worthy.

XBIZ: How does the MyDirtyHobby brand distinguish itself from the competition?

Kamberos: We are the adult social network. We have everything from live cams to videos, chat and pictures.

Our differentiation is that we are a community where people can interact with each other and we produce events that nurture the community and interaction of the company with our amateurs.

By doing so we want them to feel that they are first and foremost the girl next door and they are the most important part of MyDirtyHobby.

XBIZ: Talk about your approach to recruiting new cam models and clip artists.

Kamberos: We are always on the lookout for new models and actively seek them out either directly or at trade shows.

XBIZ: How do you ensure performers' needs are met on the site, when they request changes?

Kamberos: We have a relationship management department whose sole purpose is to be the ambassadors of the models to the company and deal with each request.

XBIZ: Discuss your industry partnerships with other key business players behind the scenes and how you leverage these relationships to advance MyDirtyHobby.

Kamberos: We have great business relationships with several key people of the industry, with whom we regularly meet and brain-storm on the next big idea.

XBIZ: In addition to videos and live cams, you have a community section of the site. How do you determine what gets spotlighted on the feed?

Kamberos: The community section works as it would in any social platform, so whenever an amateur posts something new this is featured here, from a blog post to a picture or video.

XBIZ: What is your overall marketing strategy for attracting new users to the site?

Kamberos: The idea is to always be visible and have fun and offer new activities to both attract interest and showcase our amateurs having a good time.

We also plan a series of events where users can attend and meet their favorite models, seeing them live, in action, as part of a show on stage.

XBIZ: Talk about the various community events you hold, like flash contests and featured live sex shows.

Kamberos: Events are a very important thing we do for two reasons: first and most important, is for the amateurs to have fun … and second, is for our fans to get a chance to see their favorite models live.

Our contests are carefully selected to help the amateurs boost their monthly activity and have the opportunity to win special prizes. We try to differentiate these every time to keep the interest going.

Live sex shows are a weekly staple on MyDirtyHobby and we take great care to make sure it is something special for our users to watch and enjoy.

XBIZ: Any new features on the horizon for MyDirtyHobby?

Kamberos: Look out for many exciting updates on MyDirtyHobby in the near future. Investing and developing new features is our bread and butter, and we are very committed in maintaining MyDirtyHobby as the biggest amateur network of the industry.
