Seven ’til Midnight Unveils ‘Retro-Modern’ Holiday 2014 Collection

Seven ’til Midnight recently revealed its 2014 Holiday Collection catalog, which features a vintage pinup aesthetic mixed with modern “styling and attitude.” The collection’s festive themes include Sassy Santa’s, Luxe Lace for Less, and Sparkle and Shine, in reds, emeralds, and pinks. The 50-piece collection features on trend silhouettes in lace, satin, dotted mesh, charmuese, and adornments of flirty ruffles, marabou, metallic dots and rhinestone charms. Seven ’til Midnight’s catalog doubles as a calendar and is offered in a glossy spiral bound format.

“The 2014 Holiday Collection delivers a sassy collection of Santa-inspired outfits including our Saint Kiss grouping showcasing a seamless dress and teddy with marabou trims and packaged with a vinyl belt with diamond buckle,” the company said. “The La La Lace group features a luxurious Italian inspired corded floral lace with marabou trim in a baby doll, a three piece set, and a plunging V-neckline teddy. Highlights of our collection include the Green with Envy group, presenting an art deco inspired galloon lace with lurex layered on emerald satin in a chemise, bustier, and two bra sets, and a bustier. One of our favorite designs is the Hustle Bustle, flirty stretch satin boy short with tulle bustle, shiny ribbon edge, bows and ruffle details.”

Seven ’til Midnight also caters to the plus size market with its Baby Got Curves! Collection, featuring more than 20 styles.

The Holiday Collection is priced starting at $6 for the Hustle Bustle panty with most items under $18 wholesale, keeping the retail under $40. With shipping now underway, Seven ’til Midnight’s Lisa Tran — who handles public relations for the company — sat down with XBIZ Sensuals to discuss the range’s highlights.

What inspired the pin-up theme of STM’s Holiday catalog?

Our retro-modern pin-up girl look is an inspirational character we used this year due to the appeal of Katy Perry and Lana Del Rey who embody this style. Our styles represent a nostalgic memory of the past, such as the 1950s with the pin-up girls, while incorporating society’s idea of what a woman should be — glamorous, fun and sassy.

How do the designs stay true to holiday themes while appealing to this generation?

We mix the old with the new, adding new detailing while keeping the Santa idea of the holiday season. We’ve stayed with colors that are dominant during this time of year such as the reds and greens, and added lace and marabou trims.

Our designs allow our customers to wear them outside, as it is quickly becoming common for lingerie to be mixed into day wear. For example, our Naughty n’ ice bustier (STM-9772) can be paired with jeans or a skirt for a holiday party. Our seamless Santa dress from the Saint Kiss collection (STM-9776P) is perfect for a night out!

What current trends are incorporated into your holiday styles?

Alongside our modern pin-up girl trend, we have three key trends we have used that inspired our holiday collection. “Sparkle and Shine” refers to the strategic use of sparkle throughout the collection. For this trend, we are featuring trend-driven silhouettes, fabrics with metallic dots, lace with lurex, and rhinestone trims and buckle.

Our “Sassy Santa” trend is based upon the idea of “SantaCon,” which is an annual mass gathering of people dress in Santa Claus costumes parading publicly on the streets and in bars in cities worldwide. The focus is on spontaneity and creativity, while having a good time and spreading cheer.

Our last trend is the “Luxe Lace for Less,” delivering soft and luxurious laces with beautiful texture, pattern and shine. Lace is combined with dotted mesh and layered on shiny microfiber.

Discuss the Holiday Collection’s more festive designs.

For the New Year, we always add more glitz and glam to our pieces to make them stand out at any party. For example, the Extravaganza (STM-9660P) has sequin cups to add shine to the top. Our All That Glitters (STM-9515P) is decorated with floral lace and sequin and the Midnight Kiss (STM-9657P) is the perfect silver sequin dress to go out in on New Year’s Eve.
