SafeFolder's InternetScrap offers a unique way to manage your Internet favorites, going beyond traditional bookmarking to actually grabbing screenshots of the saved sites to provide a permanent record of the desired content.
A free add-on for Microsoft's Internet Explorer, InternetScrap lets users choose to capture either the active screen view or a full-page view of the bookmarked website and provides customizable hot-keys for ease of use. Users can easily specify JPEG quality and a location to save the image — which is later available through your favorites menu — or via email.
"You use Internet more and more," publisher Yeongjin Kim said. "Bookmarked site contents change or disappear [and] bookmarked information becomes obsolete."
Kim added that InternetScrap will automatically process your existing bookmarks and is suitable for those with slower Internet connections.
Features include the ability to manage bookmarks and screenshots at the same time with one JPEG image, including transaction history pages, web form replies and other web pages you might normally print out or where going 'back' is impossible, such as with online payment pages.
One handy application for InternetScrap that adult content owners might appreciate is the ability to quickly grab screen images of transient web content items — such as when seeing your video up on that tube site's homepage — a video which may otherwise rotate off without record, after the next page refresh, visitor arrival or five-minute update.
