Firefox Eases Porn Surfing

If you work with digital media on a daily basis it is easy to overlook certain aspects of your website in the face of approaching deadlines and quick turnarounds. While the phrase "content is king" holds true for most adult websites, just as important is knowing how your users interact with your content.

Here are five Firefox add-ons your audience is using to make their porn surfing easier.

IE Tab
Has this ever happened to you? You're trying to view a trailer off a porn site only to find that it requires a special plugin or java applet in order to stream properly. It used to be you had to go through the timely process of opening a separate Internet Explorer browser and re-enter the site URL in order to view the appropriate trailer. Fortunately we now have the IE Tab. IE Tab is a Firefox icon that appears in the bottom right side of your browser and with the click of the mouse turns the current Firefox tab into an Internet Explorer one. Firefox isn't perfect, so when you come across a site where Firefox mistakes a site for malware or appears distorted in the browser window you'll want IE Tab on your side.

Delicious Bookmarks
Don't get me wrong, I think Firefox's bookmarking system is exceptional, but if you're a proficient tuber like me and like to bookmark every porn scene under the Tuscan sun, then you're going to want two things: (1) better customization; and (2) to have your bookmarks stored on an Internet site rather than on your computer. Delicious is a social bookmarking site that allows you to do just that. Its Firefox add-on, however, is equally impressive. The "tag" button located at the top of the browser allows for quick bookmarking, allowing you to further customize descriptions as well as tags for each site you bookmark. Each bookmark can be set to "private" or can be shared among the friends in your network. A must-have!

Download Statusbar
Whenever you download something in Firefox, whether it is an image, video or sound file, a separate smaller window appears displaying its contents. While this can be disabled in the options menu, many hardcore downloaders find it frustrating switching from one window to the next to see if their contents have finished downloading. The Download Statusbar appears as a thin bar at the bottom of the browser where multiple downloads can be viewed, paused and accessed without resorting to a second window. Each download also gives relevant information such as speed (kilobytes/second), time remaining on the download, and how much of the download is completed.

Firefox's Search Engine
While not technically an add-on (as each Firefox browser comes with a standard search engine in the top right-hand corner) if you're looking to make your searching for particular scenes, movies and actors/actresses easier, it might be a good idea to sign up for several customizable search engines including IMDB (Internet Movie Database), IAFD (Internet Adult Film Database) and Wikipedia. In the long run it's sure to save you hours of searching every year.

Stealther
Stealther takes a little getting used to but it's well worth the effort. If there are times you want to surf the web without leaving a trace on your local computer, then this is the right extension for you. What it does is, once activated, temporarily disables your browsing history, downloads, disk cache, saved information and passwords, cookies, referrer headers and recently closed tabs. If you're married or have kids and don't want them to know what you've been browsing, Stealther is definitely the add-on for you.

It's Time to Rock the Vote and Make Your Voice Heard

When I worked to defeat California’s Proposition 60 in 2016, our opposition campaign was outspent nearly 10 to 1. Nevertheless, our community came together and garnered enough support and awareness to defeat that harmful, misguided piece of proposed legislation — by more than a million votes.

Account-to-Account Payments: The New Banking Disruptor?

So much of our industry relies upon Visa and Mastercard to support consumer payments — and with that reliance comes increased scrutiny by both brands. From a compliance perspective, the bar keeps getting raised until it feels like we end up spending half our time making sure we are compliant rather than growing our business.
